What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and ground fighting. Unlike striking arts, BJJ teaches you to control and submit opponents using leverage and technique rather than strength or size.
This makes BJJ particularly effective for self-defense, as it lets smaller practitioners to defend themselves against larger opponents. BJJ focuses on ground-level encounters, using holds, throws, joint locks, and chokes to neutralize threats without necessarily causing harm.
Beyond self-defense, BJJ is known for building physical fitness, mental resilience, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of community among practitioners.
